The short version: our payment provider handles your card, the print partner gets the shipping label, and we keep a reference number and the amounts.

What we keep

For each order, we hold an order reference, the item and quantity, the amounts charged, a payment number and the time. There is no place in our records for a name, an email address or a postal address, and a check in our build fails if anyone adds one. We keep these records as long as tax law requires.

Who else sees what

On these pages, and how we count visits

We don't follow you around: the only thing kept in your browser is your cart, if you start one (the product codes and how many of each, for 30 days, so it is there when you come back; it holds nothing about you), there are no ad tags, and nothing recognises you from one visit to the next. To see what's working and fix what breaks, we count visits in aggregate. For each page load our server notes the page, the country the connection comes from, whether it's a phone, tablet or computer, and the name of the website that linked here, if one did. We also use our host's page counter, which measures page views and how fast pages load without storing anything in your browser. If a script on this site breaks, your browser tells us the kind of error, the file and the line number, never the error's message or anything you typed. None of this includes your IP address, an identifier, or anything about who you are.

The little tools on the product pages run in your browser; the pictures you use with them never leave your device.

Your sighting

A paid order gets a sighting number. Our sightings service keeps that number with the order's reference, its date and the names of the items, never your name, email or address. The sighting's page shows only the month and the items, and its address is a private link that only your confirmation email carries.

Your say

Write to us to ask what we hold about an order, or to have anything removed that tax law lets us remove.
